Last week I set off for Iceland with my good friend Scott for a short trip that took us through the Southwest and Westman Islands. Even though we only had 4 days, that was nearly 90 hours of daylight, which we just didn’t feel right sleeping through. We drove south from Reykjavik on Saturday morning and managed to hit the Golden Circle, Seljalandsfoss, Skógafoss (where we hiked the first third of Fimmvörðuháls), Dyrhólaey, Vík, Kirkjubæjarklaustur, Fjallsárlón/Jökulsárlón, and the Westman Islands on our route back. While it sounds like a crazy whirlwind, I can honestly say there weren’t really any moments I felt like I was rushing myself, aside from the fact that I would have loved to hike the entire Fimmvörðuháls (on the list for next time). I will share more from Iceland soon but for now, here are some photos from my phone.
